Dental manufacturing facility fit-out, Bradford
Fit-out of a new industrial unit shell to provide offices, visitor welcome and demonstration area and specialist manufacturing facilities for Techceram Ltd. The project was completed within a strict timetable designed to limit impact on operations and to a tight budget. The fit-out spaces included environmentally controlled clean rooms, requiring careful spatial planning and appropriate technical design.
Manufacturing facility fit-out, North Yorkshire
Fit-out of an industrial unit shell to provide offices, demonstration area and manufacturing facilities for Ventrolla UK, with an emphasis on sustainable design to reflect the company's initiatives towards reducing energy use and waste. The new spaces were designed to be contained within an acoustically and thermally insulated enclosure and arranged to maximise views from the demonstration area and offices into the manufacturing space.
Caribbean Luxury Residences
Competition concept design for a new luxury development in the Caribbean. The masterplan includes a range of accommodation types from two-storey beachfront villas to groups of bedroom suites with shared pools and terraces. The proposals also include food and beverage offers, a nightclub and marina facilities.
Headquarters interior refurbishment
Refurbishment of electronics manufacturer IFM's UK headquarters in Hampton. The project included reconfiguration of the office areas to convert a cellular arrangement to open plan, as well as creating a new customer demonstration area and coffee bar.
Landlord's areas refurbishment
Refurbishment of the common entrance areas of a mid-century apartment building overlooking The Stray in Harrogate for Morleys Properties. The project also included a new external works scheme to refresh the approach to the building's entrances.
Highways depot review, reconfiguration and extension for Birmingham City Council/Amey Plc
The project was initiated by a review of the authority's main highways depot current and future accommodation requirements, working with PFI provider Amey. This lead to a programme of works to rationalise the works areas to reflect changes in priorities and to create additional office, training and welfare space.
New depot facilities & former site masterplan for Rochdale Borough Council/Balfour Beatty, Rochdale
Working with project managers/cost consultants Evolve2Consult, MOArchitecture was appointed to explore site options for the relocation of Rochdale Borough Council’s depot facilities.
The work involved developing a ‘template’ depot accommodation requirement and layout and applying this critically to a long-list of sites in order to identify a preferred short-list. The new depot would allow more effective accommodation of office-based staff and create a safer, more efficient operations area. Site selection process was also be influenced by the Local Spatial Plan and borough-wide issues around regeneration and targeting economic growth through development.
Care home rooftop garden
Recreation of a roof garden at a Royal Masonic Benevolent Institute care home in London. The aim was to address health and safety issues with the existing garden and enhance the environment's appeal for residents, visitors and staff. The design introduces wildflower meadow planting, new shelters and seasonal portable planters while providing additional passive safety and welfare features.
The project is one of a number of refurbishments and alterations undertaken for RMBI.

Competition scheme for a new highly sustainable visitors centre including café, retail, education and wellbeing spaces.
Competition scheme - Roker pier shelter
As part of a selective invitation competition, the proposals were for a new pier shelter, also providing access to a tunnel running the length of the Listed pier wall. The proposals included a wave-form shelter, perforated with to provide dappled shade in summer and emitting filtered light at night.

Competition scheme - Hull
Competition scheme for a mixed used masterplan for a riverside regeneration site on the River Humber. The scheme provided a mix of housing types and tenures, community facilities, retail, food and drink, landmark offices and a potential new hotel. The proposals also included a business incubation quarter, providing flexible live-work and small scale industrial units.

Dove Engineering Centre for The JCB Academy Trust
Alterations and extension to an existing former primary school in Rocester, near Derby, to create a new apprentice centre for the Academy. The substantial extension required careful consideration and a sensitive design response given the location within an area of significant heritage importance. The project is one of a number undertaken for the Academy.
Cameroon International Academy for Holistic Therapy
Concept design for a new academy focussing on wellbeing and health education in Cameroon, including residential accommodation for staff and international students. As well as practical and theory teaching spaces, the scheme includes a commercial day spa and therapy facilities. The project, for a private client, is supported by the Cameroon government. The project is one of a number of overseas commissions.
Boldon & Cleadon Community Library
Feasibility study for refurbishment and extension of an existing library near Gateshead, transferred from local authority ownership to a local community group, undertaken in association with Plunkett Foundation. The scheme provides better flexibility for multiple uses and adds much needed meeting and group activity space.
The Bank, Chopwell
A project to convert a former high street bank near Gateshead into a new community hub with social space, café, bakery, training facilities and rentable office and arts spaces. The property is subject to an asset transfer from Gateshead Council to the Chopwell Community interest Organisation and is funded in part by the local LEP and has been supported by Plunkett Foundation.
